On Thursday 2nd May and Thursday 9th May, Trinity hosted two engaging and practical revision events for Y10 students organised by Miss Ahmed and Mrs Phillips.
The well-attended sessions commenced with advice and successful revision strategies from Y11 students who offered the Y10s an insight into how to best prepare for their upcoming exams. Speaking from experience and having sat their Literature exams last summer, they were able to offer wise words, reassurance and motivation to our current Y10s.
The English department then hosted revision quizzes where students worked in teams to answer a range of questions to test their knowledge. The winning teams were then rewarded with High Street Shopping vouchers! Moreover, students also had the opportunity to talk to their peers and staff as well as gather revision resources for each of the Literature topics at designated market stalls. Meanwhile, the Young Enterprise teams both provided refreshments and profited well from the events!
For the final part of both sessions, we welcomed Teacher of the Year 2017, Stacey Reay back to school following her successful writing masterclass she delivered to Y11 students at the Y11’s Thursday Night Revision Takeaway on Thursday 25th April. This time, she taught two masterclasses on A Christmas Carol and Romeo & Juliet in preparation for the upcoming GCSE English Literature Paper 1 exam.
