National Citizen Service (NCS) are working with Trinity Catholic College to offer an amazing opportunity during the summer break.
Trinity Catholic College is a big advocate of NCS and actively encourages students to get involved.
NCS is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that enables 16 and 17 year olds to:
- Take on new challenges and build skills for work and life
- Develop leadership, teamwork and communication skills
- Meet incredible people
- Boost CVs, UCAS applications and access future opportunities
- Give back to the community
Our Year 11 students have a chance to take part in NCS with a range of start dates available in July/August.
The programme includes a five-day, four-night adventure in the Northumberland borders, Lake District or Yorkshire Dales complete with activities such as canoeing, archery and high ropes. They’ll get to know their NCS team-mates, build confidence and leadership skills and achieve things they never thought possible.
After a short break, participants will have another five-day, four-night residential away from home; this time at university-style accomodation. During this week, they will develop more skills for life and work as well as gaining an understanding of the local community.
When they return home, they will work together in teams to design, plan and deliver their own social action project on something they feel passionate about. This is the time to put everything they’ve learnt along the way into practice and make a lasting difference to the local area.
Following an outstanding uptake from our current Yr 11 pupils we were awarded a very special award from the NCS recruitment Coordinator.
